Privett Windows Ltd

We bought timber windows and a large set of French doors from Privett Windows Ltd. Unfortunately none of the top openers had the multi-point locking agreed in the contract. All attempts by us to get Privett to rectify the matter failed, so we reluctantly turned to a solicitor to help us out. His communications also failed to receive the desired result. Having an expert witness view the windows and write a report, Privett then agreed to a Contract of Compromise, stating that they would replace the faulty parts of the windows. They then breached this contract too. We ended up in County Court where we received judgement for the cost of replacing all the Privett units. They failed to pay the amount determined by the Court. We obtained a High Court Enforcement. Only then did we find out that Privett Windows Ltd has no assets whatsoever. It leases all assets from Privett Timber Windows Ltd. There is now also another company called Privett Timber Windows Installations Ltd. You must draw your own conclusions, but it would be advisable to consider VERY carefully before buying from Privett Windows Ltd.

We ordered 10 windows, only the downstairs windows were surveyed from outside. We had to chase the drawings to approve the windows. Having made a couple of amendments, the revised drawings eventually arrived, with the wrong dimensions on them. On the installation date 7 windows arrived, 3 had gone missing and nobody knew where. 2 of the missing windows were found but 1 was too big. This window and the remaining missing window were re-made. 1 of them was and still is too big. Apparently our lintel is in the wrong place. Most of the windows have knocks in the frames, several let light through between the frames. virtually none of the windows are properly sealed against the weather. Despite numerous email and telephone conversations the director at no time took our complaints seriously. The company and it's staff were extremely rude and deceitful. Despite paying in full we still have no FENSA certificate or guarantee, 6 months on. I only rate this company with 1 star because no stars are not available.

We had the majority of our windows replaced by Privett and the installation was completed just over a week ago. From the time we requested a quote to the making good around the last window, we have received nothing short of excellent customer service. Andrius is very knowledgeable and professional and his attention to detail during the initial design meeting and subsequent survey meant he was able to advise and assist us on our choice of design. The windows arrived earlier than estimated and the installation was completed within the week. We are absolutely delighted with our new windows and would like to thank everybody involved, including Kelly, who was always professional, helpful and friendly and Lukasz and his excellent and highly-skilled installation team. We have no hesitation in recommending Privett Timber Windows.

We have had all our windows replaced by Privet in 2 stages over 3 years. The product is fantastic and the price is competitive. Our house is old and the windows are large, 5 meter bays in many cases and all were manufacturered and installed professionally and accurately. we are very happy with the result. The installation team are particularly skilled in negotiating tricky fitting and finishing to a high standard.

We have had all our windows in our part period house replaced, in 3 phases, over 6 years, by Privett, starting September 2010. They were all engineered wooden frame. Most were Diamond leaded but the final stage was to modern extension and were plain glass casement, with French Doors. Andrius Valatka was always meticulous with his initial survey, answering any questions and advising on the options. We later discovered that the delivery times were invariably much longer than estimated, and although the office staff were alway friendly and polite, could not give accurate delivery times. However, when the windows were delivered it was obvious that the wait was worthwhile. They were excellent in all regards. Any snags during fitting were efficiently resolved and the fitters cleaned up, daily, leaving minimal mess. It is now 8 years since the fist phase was completed and it is credit to the quality of the product that after a wipe down with a damp cloth the wood and the seals looks as good as new. Redecorating should not be necessary for a few years yet. It is worth cleaning the edges of the opening windows, on a yearly basis, and lubricating movies parts where needed.

I have used Privett Timber Windows to replace over 30 specialist windows and doors in my country house near Guildford. From the very first design meeting I knew I was in the safe hands – the experience and in- depth knowledge of dealing with such value projects were extremely important to me. The whole process went smoothly and the finished product (including their installation service) was in line with my high expectation. I would like to thank Privett Windows for installing our fabulous windows and doors. They look extremely elegant and have hugely enhanced the appearance of our Edwardian home. Not only are the windows very attractive but on a practical front, the noise and draught issues are significantly improved. From our initial telephone conversation, to the Sales team's visit which was knowledgeable, friendly and professional, followed by the expert advice and survey, the whole process has run extremely smoothly. The installation team were fantastic and I can't praise them enough. Each and everyone was helpful, courteous and extremely hard working. Their attention to detail on both the installation and general cleanliness and tidiness was exemplary. The whole experience from start to finish was undertaken and carried out with care and with the customer very much in mind. This is the second house we have installed Privett Windows and I would thoroughly recommend this Company.

We have had all our windows in a period house replaced by Privett in two phases.. The ordering process went smoothly. We found the office staff rather brusque initially, but this settled down. Andrius carries out a detailed measurement, which resulted in the windows all fitting when delivered. Our queries, suggestions and changes were dealt with quickly and efficiently. The delivery time was much longer than the 8 weeks we were originally told - this didn’t matter for us, but should perhaps be made clearer up front. When delivered the windows were in good condition and largely correct. There were some issues, but these were resolved relatively quickly, and given we replaced over 25 windows this is acceptable. The installation teams were excellent - quick, efficient and leaving minimal mess. They were very adept at the finishing touches, including painting and making good. Overall we are very pleased with the results. The windows look great and seem very well made. It will be interesting to see how they perform/weather over the years. I do have some questions as to the longevity of the sealant used (extensively) particularly on the southern, sunny elevation. Also I have concerns about the latch mechanism when windows are open - particularly given the weight of the windows. Time will tell on both!

Superb high quality Windows . Look fantastic from the outside and even better from within. Installers had to overcome difficult dormers and tile hanging but coped well. Office staff helpful and friendly and answered questions promptly. So pleased will now have further Windows and doors installed. No hesitation in strongly recommending Privett Windows.

excellent value for money and great product all the way round. delivered within the lead time stated, although i wasnt aware of the standard leadtimes in timber window industry and 8 weeks delivery was a shock to me, which i should have done further investigation myself.
