LMB carried out a loft conversion and I am pleased with the result and would recommend them. The tradespeople LMB use are excellent. All were polite, good at their job, helpful and approachable. The work started with Brandon and Darren an apprentice building the bulk of the conversion. They were both very good and carried out the work quietly and efficiently with little impact on our daily lives. Brandon was a great communicator and clearly explained each step of the work. We were lucky to have such a helpful and skilled worker. The next stages involved electricians and plasterers. The plasterers finished a great job in one day and the electricians were accommodating regarding positioning of sockets etc. Following on from this the roof tilers and bricklayers arrived and worked competently. The final stage involved Jermaine the carpenter. He is another great worker; friendly, obliging and skilled. At the end of the project Rob carried out snagging and clearing up- He did a good job. During the build, LMB are easily contactable and Joanna, Lee and the team do their best to answer questions and sort out any issues. Although the loft conversion went well there were some aspects that could be improved. The architect’s plans were a little optimistic regarding the use of space, the engineer’s report resulted in an extra steel beam being required that incurred an additional £1500 cost on top of the quotation. Also, the building inspector required work on all the doors in our house to meet fire regulations. I think it is important for clients to examine the architects plans carefully and clarify the position regarding structural beams and fire doors at an early stage.
