Kalglass

We contracted Kalglass to replace a 9-pane bay window in our Victorian apartment building. It was a difficult job removing the existing, rotten wooden framed window with single glazed, non-safety glass on the second floor overlooking the garden. Kalglass did not submit the cheapest quote; however, they did not try inflating the cost of the job by insisting on scaffolding as two of the other three contractors did (which they expected us to organise). As we’d used Kalglass before and were pleased with their work we chose them over a larger firm which submitted sent a lower quotation. Theo came for the initial assessment of the work and was tasked to design a more stable framed structure to support an outdoor balcony on which the window frames rested. His quote included all costs, labour, taxes, and architectural standard drawings indicating the exact measurements and technical details related to the work. The quote also indicated a ten-year warranty on all parts and labour, and a FENSA certificate post installation. Alex and Catalin arrived at the property to begin work on the scheduled day 15 minutes early and began removing the old frames immediately after laying ground sheets to catch debris. Within two hours they had the old frame out and started preparing the walls and outside brickwork for the new frame and double-glazed sealed units. By the end of the day the new windows were in place. Alex and Catalin returned the following morning (again, 15 minutes early) and completed the installation and trim by lunchtime. They cleaned up the ground below and left the flat immaculate. They worked efficiently, quietly and did an amazing, professional install. We will continue to use Kalglass for all future work on our building and highly recommend them to anyone looking for quality work, competitive prices and on time project completion.
