RUN AWAY BEFORE ITS TOO LATE It has been over a year since Joel and the team started work on our tiny (3.5 sq m) extension and kitchen diner conversion. Who would think that I would still be sitting here, a year later, without the extension work being approved and legalised by building control, with the project finally completed by another building company this summer - because Joel has disappeared without installing the sliding doors he had promised us in July 2017 (we provided 100 percent deposit at that time). As Joel has disappeared and all the calls I made to him begging to provide us with the building specifications for the building control were either unanswered or not acted upon, we are now stuck with an extension that cannot be legalised. At least until we open up the roof, the floor/foundation and the wall and present all the internal structures to the building control officers. Not exactly how one would like to enjoy their new extension, huh? So, if you ever consider Joel for some building work, think twice, or better - turn arond and run, before it's too late (as it unfortunately is in our case). Just in case Joel comes in claiming it's all lies, we have email chains, paperwork, and photos to prove all of the above (plus ongoing talks with building control). Also, that VEKA guarantee they show around is worth very little. We have tried. VEKA couldn't even enforce Joel to give us the building specs he was supposed to give us in order to get building permission.
