If this is the company I think it is, St Andrews Home Improvements (windows, doors etc) I had a sales rep come to my door, uninvited. Just so happens we were looking for new windows! The sales rep that came in was at my house for several hours and did not want to leave without a sale- too bad! I STRESSED that I would not be signing up for anything and was only interested due to the 18 month fixed quote that was being offered. Original quote for 4 windows was circa 7k. I said no way! The guy asked me what I wanted to pay - I advised 2.5k and guess what? He went on the phone (at 10pm) to his boss who confirmed I could have them for 2.5k. Things then got confusing as he said the 2.5k was not fixed. If I wanted it fixed for 18 months it would cost me 4k so I advised I would work on the 4k figure. He ended up leaving after a heated debate, in a huff. There is something dodgy going on and I do not trust this company!! Stay clear!
