We would strongly advise others to exercise caution before using Edgars Joinery. I would give zero if I could . Our experience was extremely disappointing. Although operating primarily as a carpentry/joinery business, Edgars presented himself as capable of carrying out significant building and structural landscaping works at our property. In our experience, the standard of work carried out did not demonstrate the level of skill or competence expected for those works. The agreed project remained incomplete after approximately four months, despite repeated assurances that the work would be finished. Attendance on site was inconsistent, and many concerns we raised during the project regarding the quality of workmanship were dismissed at the time. We have since obtained independent advice confirming issues with the construction, including incorrectly built walls, poor curved brickwork, and excessively high steps that did not match the agreed specification. A sum of £5,000 was specifically provided for driveway materials, however the driveway was never completed and we have still not received repayment of these funds. We also dispute the explanations later provided regarding how monies were allocated, as they differ from the original quotation and agreed scope of works. Unfortunately, after attempting to resolve matters amicably over a prolonged period, we now have no option but to pursue the matter through the courts. We would recommend that anyone considering using this contractor ensures that all agreements, specifications, and payments are documented very carefully from the outset.
