Smart steel railings were installed by Falcon Windows at a school near Ipswich to help little ones make the climb to their lofty new conservatory entrance and school building.
The Falcon team had to remove a long window and knock through to form an entrance into the new school building. The 'conservatory' makes a light and inviting way into the building and can be used as both as a porchway or annexe.
The all important railings will ensure that the youngsters can tackle the outdoor stairs safely, especially when wet underfoot as well as giving them a little extra support on the way to gatherings towards the end of long school days!
What's dark on the outside, light on the inside and proving a firm favourite with Falcon Windows customers?

Three bay, five bay… Falcon Windows regularly install bay windows in properties around Ipswich, Felixstowe and Colchester, but occasionally we get called to greater challenges.
This property in Bramford Ipswich needed Falcon Windows expertise to rise to the challenge of a particularly large seven part curved bay window. The original wooden window frames had rotted and the customer selected a long-life, low maintenance option for this full height feature window.
Both the curve and the extent of glass required meant that this was a complex installation – in fact the largest bay window that Falcon Windows has installed to date!
We were very pleased that it was on the ground floor and not upstairs which would have made the large bay window installation even trickier! The customer was very pleased too – with the thin easy-care frames and extra light into the room, as well as the level of Falcon service which went into the job.
Do you have a challenging bay window which needs replacing? Why not give Falcon Windows Ipswich a call?
Burglaries of any kind are an unpleasant business, but Falcon Windows Ipswich can act quickly to help pick up the pieces. An Ipswich company knew exactly who to call when their commercial premises was broken into recently.
The Suffolk commercial unit where the smash-and-grab burglary took place has glass doors, and only two years ago following a similar break-in, Falcon Windows were engaged to re-install quality toughened glass.
As soon as the police forensics had completed their work, the Falcon team were on site to clear up the thousands of scattered pieces of shattered glass from the broken toughened glass pane and install a replacement laminated pane to the door.
“It was 6 mm toughened, grey anti-sun glass so when it was shattered, the glass went everywhere,” explains Eamon Sheppard from Falcon Windows. “After clearing up, we installed a new laminated panel and arranged for it to be filmed inside the following day with the correct grey tint to match up.”
Developments in technologies mean that new glass products are coming onto the market all the time and many are being created with increased levels of security in mind, so it’s always a good idea when replacing glass panes for whatever reason to consider upgrading to new, more efficient products.
“We advised installing laminated glass this time and the film helps to prevent mess if the pane is damaged in the future at all. We did also suggest that they consider upgrading their alarm system which they are looking into.”

Time to slim down in readiness for the summer sunshine?
Falcon Windows created a highly appreciated art installation recently at a property near Ipswich.
Working with their usual skill, precision and care, the Falcon team created a beautiful new cream conservatory with a glass roof at the rear of the new build property, then went on to convert a garage to a great new art room space with a new window and door into the conservatory area.
The result was clearly a range of light new spaces, just right for drawing up bright ideas – a work of art in fact.
The customer was extremely pleased and thanks to our final nifty strokes with the plastering trowel, just couldn’t wait to get painting!

Falcon Windows are artists in their own right, in that every installation of windows, doors or conservatories are expert jobs, undertaken with skill, precision and care. Recently though, the Ipswich windows and conservatories team undertook a conservatory installation and conversion project at a new build property in Whatfield near HadIeigh Ipswich which required some careful cutting out, the piecing together of an installation, not to mention nifty strokes with the plastering trowel.
Two pairs of narrow French doors on the rear of the property were replaced with a set of bifolding doors on one side in their lounge and a new cream conservatory with a glass roof was installed. Another pair of French doors were removed to extend the existing kitchen and create a lovely view of the garden.
To make an art room, some of the black cladding on the rear of the garage was removed and the space converted. This was done by installing a new window and an entrance door from the garage art room into the new conservatory.
Finally, the whole inside of the art room was plastered, ready for the customer to decorate.
The customer was extremely pleased with the outcome – in its own sweet Falcon way, the installation is a real work of art in itself!
Now here’s a conservatory with a difference! Light, bright – and coloured beautiful by Falcon Windows Ipswich! The owner of this Bucklesham bungalow near Felixstowe surely had a garden room in mind and wanted to enjoy not just the way the new conservatory looked outside into the garden – but also how it looked from being inside the garden too!
With plenty of windows on two sides, a door for access directly into the garden, plus openable windows for ventilation, the design maximises the natural light and ‘brings the garden in’ as well as retaining neighbourhood privacy with the third external side as a solid wall with just a row of narrow top lights. But it’s the innovative use of coloured weatherboarding that really lifts the look and gives the whole conservatory a ‘New England-style’ summerhouse feel from the outside. Easy to clean and with no need to paint, uPVC cladding products provide a decorative and protective facing for any property. Ask the Falcon Windows Ipswich team about the woodgrain and regular finishes or the wide range of colours, so you can give your smart new conservatory an individual or rustic feel and still enjoy the benefits of products which keep their good looks with the minimum of maintenance.

For this Ipswich conservatory repair, firstly the guttering had to be removed by the Falcon Windows team, along with the front ring beam hard plastic covering.

Bright might be beautiful, but Falcon Windows Ipswich offers all sorts of glazing solutions - and sometimes it's strange how something can really be added to a property, simply by taking something away. Don't need those aging patio doors any more? Fancy making a room more conventional, perhaps to add radiators or as part of knocking through to make a different shape of room altogether? Here's how Falcon Ipswich can help. These images show the recent removal of a full length window from an Ipswich home, whose owners simply had other ideas for their property. In its place, Falcon Windows installed a clean and super-smart standard-sized window, bricking up as required and studding out inside with appropriate levels of insulation. Finally the Falcon team finished off by installing an MDF window board and plastering the new interior wall. A real transformation - downsizing from a large window to something smaller really made the difference - just what the customer ordered in fact!
Falcon Windows flew in to the rescue recently building this great new conservatory, when an Ipswich couple with a baby on the way decided that their home needed to grow with their family.
The extra conservatory space to the rear of the property has plenty of playroom potential and is sure to become the large and comfortable family area to enjoy time together - both when the weather means that you need to be inside, and when it's time to open up the patio doors and enjoy the garden.
At the time these pictures were taken, the flooring and plastering were still to be finished. However the lady of the house was already making plans to share the new-found space with friends. Well, where better to make the most of autumn's magical light, keep out of the chills and dodge any raindrops, than a bright conservatory like this? Simply ideal for a baby shower, don't you think?
