Avoid at all costs! Kevin is a Con Man.
Kevin was declared bankrupt at Northampton County Court on 29th February 2012. Before that he had an Individual Voluntary Arrangement since 2010.
His website is still up and running - still saying he is FENSA registered - he isn't just check by calling FENSA and they will tell you that they have reregistered him for not responding to requests from them.
His mobile phone (which he never answers) goes through to a voice mail message saying "thank you for calling Britannia Conservatories..."
He still owes me £2800 as the job he did was so bad it has been condemed (not suitable damp proofing, ill fitting doors and windows,)
Kevin took deposit before Christmas. The work was to be completed the first week of the new year, no calls, no response to emails or phone messages and no sign of the work even started let alone finished.
Only after threatening county court action did he respond. Told me that it was because he had been sick, then further delays due to "i have a new install manger", then to say that they need to come around again to look at electrics before they start (although they had done a full site survey)
Nearly 2 months after the original contract date for the work to be completed and the work is not completed. Kevin now denies having agreed the original date (bad luck Kevin, it's in an email from you) and also denies that self level screed floor, skirting board and plastering walls were also in the contract (again, bad luck Kevin - these were all in your quote).
Not forgetting that Kevin had also ordered the wrong glass (ordered with white spacers not bronze to go with the rosewood frame) and the fitter Mark, supposedly didn't notice the "mistake" either.
Do not deal with this Con Man. I'm happy to talk with anyone who is thinking of using this company or has used them to tell them what to watch out for! Email me martinsj at mk-forum co uk and I'll give you the details of his new address.

We paid Kevin from Britannia £300.00 6 weeks ago towards a new front door. He said it would be done before Christmas. We did not hear anything and have since left several calls and voicemails to which he did not reply. I had 1 call from him about 2 weeks ago and he said he would call again the next day. I am still waiting to hear from him despite trying constantly to contact him.
I would strongly suggest you go elsewhere for your home improvements as the customer service is diabolical and I have lost all confidence in this company as a result
Do not touch kevin mccahill with a barge pole. He has no idea what he is doing. I stupidly took on the plastering in two of his installations. So unorganised it is amazing. I wasted days turning up when nothing was ready. I feel for the customers as it is all his doing. He has totally conned me and has not paid me a penny. If I read these reviews first I would not have taken them on.
Spread the word and do not have anything to do with him.
If anyone has something good to say about Kevin McCahill, THEY ARE LYING!!!!!
He took a deposit from us and was then just an answerphone message for weeks!
When work finally started, and the windows arrived, I had to say the quality was truly awful and promptly tried to complain... to the answerphone. He eventually contacted us and tried to say they were of a good standard. They were not. He then said there had been a problem with manufacturing and would resolve this. He did not. This went on and on. In the end, we got another firm to remove the few windows they had fitted and install new windows to the standard we expected.
Please please please, avoid at all costs!
Kevin McCahill - A Conman..... Definitely. An honest businessman..... Definitely Not!
Kevin has reappeared again now or rather was working for Apropos windows as a salesman. He convinced us he could do the building works to fit the Apropos glassware , we did have 3 quotes in from local builders who came highly recommended via other friends. However we decided to use Kevin. Huge mistake, he is not a builder and hadn't a clue - he use 3 Romanians to start digging out our back terrace without supporting it and no idea what they were doing. We paid a deposit of £12000.00. We were totally conned by Kevin he is the biggest crook out there. Apropos were horrified to see what state he had left our terrace in. We have now had to get a structural engineer in and proper ground workers in to correct his awful work to the tune of £20000.00 do not let him near your home. He is the biggest conman ever and has zero qualifications in this. I have studied all of this type of work for over 5 years and when they started digging I knew it was all wrong so I halted the work before we lost our home... Please contact me if you'd like anymore Info I only wish we'd have done our due diligence before letting him free on our home and read these reviews. We were going to make him bankrupt again but he's got nothing to make him bankrupt for. Do not trust him or let his do anything to you home he's s disgrace. He has been fired from Apropos too.
In the beginning I did have some issues with this company which have now been resolved. My conservatory was finished this week and to a high standard. There has also been a change in the workforce and the Installation Manager who is new to the company is both professional and committed to a high standard of work.
