a contract was signed for a conservatory installation which I was advised would take 3 weeks start to finish. I paid the bill excluding £1000 when I was told we were at final fix stage in June. Once I paid this money the whole project stalled insofar that despite trying to get it completed (I wanted to be able to enjoy the conservatory) still in August, September, October and November. It was as a result of this I am seeking alternative company's and wish I had of gone with another organisation albeit at greater expense. The electrical work was unsafe, a live wire left dangling under the conservatory without proper taping (I have two young children who are able to get under the conservatory), the plastering has been redone and during this it was identified the electrical work (not including the live wire) needed replacing before the new electrician would sign it off as safe. They were intending to put a drain pipe on without having anything for it to drain into (it needs a soakaway). I was advised its normal for the guttering to retain over an inch of water (not true!). More recently the conservatory is leaking water I tried to discuss this with the company given I have paid for the work completed to date who told me they are not going to do anything, as there is a balance outstanding of £1000 there was inference from the owner that I am seeking alternative workers as I do not want to pay £1000. He clearly did not comprehend that I will need to pay someone else and actually this exceeds £1000. They were rude, dismissive, lacking in manners and common courtesy something which was not obvious at the point of sale, however as his installation manager noted, “he's a salesman he will promise the world but doesn't know what he's doing”. When challenged they apportion blame to the customer and are lacking in communication skills insofar they have to be reminded about manners and not talking over someone when they are speaking, although still the manager could not achieve this consistently. I would not use them ever again nor would I recommend, I wish someone had of warned me first which may have been possible given the workman advising they had been brought in to fix jobs that had not been done properly!
