Sunset Windows fitted a conservatory for us in 2018. We were so pleased with the initial fitting, quality and the two med who came to fit it. Sadly, we noticed that one pane of glass was "blown" with moisture trapped between the two glazing units. This is very obvious. We contacted Dave the owner within weeks and he said he would order the glass and replace it. We waited for many weeks and then chased this up. Dave asked for the sizes of the window which implied that he had taken no action after our initial promise of replacement. We gave the sizes again and sent photos (as requested). We waited weeks again without hearing anything. I am not exaggerating when I say that we are now over a year later and we have made countless calls. Sometimes to Dave himself and often to a charming and very embarrassed lady in the office who is really sorry that Dave is resolutely refusing to get back to us. She assures u that she has passed on all our calls. We still have a broken window and now Dave is refusing to answer or reply to our calls. Please do not use this company. If you read other reviews (sadly we hadn't) you will see that our experience is not an isolated one. Dave - please sort this out - be decent, do the right thing. You have our money and your afters sales is terrible.

Sunset Windows renewed our conservatory and replaced our house guttering, fascia and barge boards in May 2011. The gentlemen who carried out the work appeared to do a very good job and were pleasant. Problems soon became apparent. Conservatory guttering Most joints on this leaked in the first few years but some remedial work was done. All joints on this guttering currently leak (ie two corner, 1 end and 1 straight) but I’m told this is not covered by guarantee. Guttering at side of house A piece of right angle guttering (which channels water from the gutter of the house hip roof to the main roof) broke away in 2014. When this was brought to the attention of Sunset Windows I was told that there was a one year guarantee only on guttering and at that time I accepted this statement. In November 2016 I came across my receipt and guarantee for the guttering work from Sunset Windows – I found that this includes the statement “All work carried out by Sunset Windows is guaranteed for 10 years”. Enthused by this discovery I rang Sunset Windows to request action and got confirmation that it would be looked at. I continued to ring during the following three months but could not prompt any apparent action. In early March I rang and was informed that the problem would be examined but, having received no telephone call during the following couple of weeks, emailed and phoned to get a response. Finally in a phone call I made on 24 March I was able to speak to the decision maker who informed me that the guttering problem was not covered by the ten year guarantee. So one piece of kit installed by Sunset Windows fails at its point of attachment to another piece of kit installed by Sunset Windows and the Sunset Windows guarantee does not apply! I’m not impressed. Guttering at rear of house This has one straight joint which leaked when installed. This was attended to initially but in more recent times has started to leak badly again. I’m told it’s not covered by guarantee. So, in conclusion, I’m not impressed with •the quality of construction (ie multiple leaking joints) •difficulties in getting Sunset Windows to respond, and •the quality of the company’s guarantees.

Some of the work they did was of a good standard, however if anything goes wrong its not so good, customer care seemed seriously lacking, it seems, sadly, once they have your money they don't want to know. They fitted a bathroom for us badly, it leaked, we got the manufacturer to check the installation who confirmed it was poor, it took nearly a year for the company to send someone to fix the problem. (took threats of legal action). By which time the floor had to be lifted (damp) the company point blankly refused to refit the floor. After we had the floor refitted the shower continued to leak, so we had to get a competent plumber to fit it and pay for a new floor to be fitted for the third time. The original flooring has to be replaced because where the electrician had cut into it it was fitted badly. Emails ignored - phone calls ignored. Could have been solved in a few days with good communication. If you are going to use them, make sure you keep hold of a retainer and only pay it when you are 100% happy, because we couldn't get them back. Sadly I would not recommend, and only because Dave (owner) just ignored us, for a year. 2 stars because we disliked the after care. We are going to other builders to repair it. That said the extension they built is fabulous.
