Unfortunately it is not possible to give a 0 star review, or else I would. And to concur with the other customers here who know that the 5 star reviews are entirely fake! My only wish was that I had the sense to look at reviews before making decisions. Again another recurring theme that I will back up is on the quality of work - and that is only saving grace of this company. The lead on this job John and his apprentice Jake could not be faulted, going above and beyond time and time again - but this is the weakness that Neil Yemm the owner preys on, just as it has been written before here. A pathological liar, money orientated bull****er is too kind of a description for him. Take my advice, head the other peoples warnings here and STAY AWAY! I wouldn't let him do a job if t was promised for free. Almost every 3rd party trade he sends will say the same thing about him, but they can't bite the hand that feeds them - all of the other disgruntled customers [of which there are many] its just a shame they too didn't also take to this site to voice their opinion and truth on this guy and his outfit. They had already gone under once, taking the name of the company that his father started over 30 years ago with him! a pathetic excuse for an MD who used the feeble excuse of an intimidating customer to hide behind the fact that he couldn't run a bath let alone project manage a job. No! this customer is assertive, on the ball and too clever to be conned, duped or sit back and take s**t from a guy like Neil Yemm who's not man enough to attend the job and both face and accept/own his errors like a man. Constant lies, let downs, excuses, work taking months past where it should have. An MD who says he doesn't read specs for jobs only goes off drawings! DO NOT trust this company or Neil Yemm - I cant say you and others here have not warned you! I simply couldn't list the absolute catalogue of errors and let downs as it would take hours to list and write but culminating in a collapsed ceiling causing injury to my wife and yards from where my three year old son stood! All completely and solely down to the non existent project management, duty of care, contingency and down right lack of anything of substance from Neil Yemm. My solicitor is dealing with this instance now! I hope that those of you who had the sense to check these sites before you choose have been saved!

I can only assume the 2014 "reviews" citing prompt responses and great time keeping have been written by Mainpride themselves: they are so far from our experience it is laughable. No doubt this review will be followed by three five star reviews to bump the ratings back up. Our experience of Mainpride's customer service has been appalling. It's nearly two years since our loft was scheduled to be completed. Our roof is still leaking in two places, our en suite window has missing beading and has the wrong glass after three attempts by Mainpride to fit it. There is a large draughty hole in the plaster behind the sink and two light fittings are dangling from the ceiling. There are still loose nails on our roof from the work. The initial work was scheduled to take 6-8 weeks and start in May. It actually began in July and took 5 months. Our front and back gardens were used as makeshift skips throughout the works and we eventually had to pay for the rubbish to be cleared ourselves. The manager, Neil, routinely lied to us about the work programme. There were several periods when nobody turned up for more than two weeks without warning. Like another reviewer we were left for two months with no glass in the new window frames. Countless times we were asked to wait in from work to let somebody in who it turned out had not been told to attend. We had to arrange our own painters and push back our bathroom and carpet fittings three times due to delays. There were 3 1/2 weeks when we were told daily someone was on their way to clear the trade waste from our front garden but nobody showed - we eventually had to pay another company to remove the waste. On more than one occasion we were told by Neil that workmen had refused his requests on our behalf to do certain jobs. When we spoke to the workmen it turned out Neil had actually told them to go to other jobs. As I write this review, rainwater is dripping into our bathroom from one area of the roof and seeping into our daughter's bedroom from a second gap. Neil assured us a couple of months ago that he was urgently sending a roofer to assess the repair work required but true to form there's been no sign of anyone.

Do not buy from this company they will let you down. I had work done and as soon as I'd paid they stopped returning my calls. They simply don't care! I would not recommend them to anyone.

I'll start by saying how happy we are with the actual work that Joe and the rest of the team carried out and how lovely the workers were. We are really happy with the end result. However, I agree with the other review. The management have serious communication issues and they will just tell lies to get you off their backs. We had days when no-one turned up when we were expecting workers and other days when workers turned up with no notice from the company. When you re schedule your work committments around having the work carried out it causes serious problems and loss of income. We also had a hole in the wall where a window was going for 8 weeks and in the end gave Mainpride the number of the window fitter we had previously used. We had scaffolding blocking the back door for a whole 4 days (the only fire exit out of the back of the house) and Neil had no intention of getting anyone out at a weekend to fix the problem. We had to foot the expense of fixing the door that the plasterer had to force under the scaffold too. When the work was complete we waited a week for the snags to be sorted but ended up getting someone in ourselves to fix the issues. Then Neil refused to give us the paperwork at the end of the project until we had paid the final installment. I was wary about doing this after reading reviews on several sites - however, we did pay but still had to wait 8 days for the paperwork ('it's in the post....!') which we only got becuase I went to the office to collect it. Steve in the office was also rude and would not listen to my complaint at all. I would say for every 11 calls I made to Neil I'd eventually get a text back. It cost far more than the initial quote purely because we were so frustrated we paid other people to fix problems that we encountered and for loss of earnings. For the hassle it caused us I'd steer clear - there are many other loft conversion companies out there with good prices!

We shopped around speaking to various company’s before seeing Neil . Out of all the company’s we spoke to he was the only one who fully provided what we asked for. From start to finish the entire build was great. Each day I was informed of what work was being carried out and was able to see if I was happy with the work from the previous day. Even down the the final positioning of the doors and windows was my choice as the stud work was being built to suit. I couldn’t recommend them enough and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend or have them back in for future work.

We’ve used Mainpride for our loft conversion and have been very happy with the work carried out. My own dad was a builder (too old to do a loft conversion now! And he has commented on how good the work is and finished to a very high standard) I can not fault Keiren and Reece, the lead guys, they have worked through snow, high winds and sometimes until late to get the job finished. We also had lockdown, so obviously and understandably work ground to a halt. But when it was safe to do so work restarted. Neil has been lovely to deal with throughout the whole process, from first getting a quote, to being onsite during the “important” bits, to keeping me informed of when other tradesmen will be arriving. Everyone of the tradesmen have been polite, nice to deal with, and have tidied up after themselves. We are so happy with our new loft conversion (Just wish we’d had it done years ago) and would recommend this company. Infact we already have and work has started on a friends loft conversion and back extension.

I’d like to start by saying, that I first contacted Neil yemm at very short notice due to the fact I was let down by another company, it was very close to Christmas at this time, and I wasn’t sure if the work could be carried out straight away. However Neil came out to see me straight after the phone call we had, we sat down and talked about what I wanted from his company, which was a full loft conversion with an ensuite, he then talked me through the plans and process, made me feel reassured considering I was Anxious from being let down by another loft conversion company, we then got the green Light to start, and from the moment the job went ahead, everything ran through perfectly. The men that was completing the job were fantastic, their workmanship was faultless, Neil was always reassuring and on hand I’d I had any queries. We kept in touch throughout the whole process, there was great communication all the way through, from both neil and the workers I welcomed into my home, everything arrived on time, and the job flowed effortlessly, even through Christmas. To say I am happy with the work that took place and the result of my loft conversion is an understatement. Family and friends that I have shown have all said how fantastic it looks. In the future I would like more work done and I will not hesitate to contact Neil for this. My experience was fantastic and would highly recommend.

I used Mainpride for a full loft conversion on the recommendation of two friends. From the start I was kept informed about what was happening and who would be coming and when. All the workers that came were polite and friendly and would always make sure everywhere was tidy after they had finished for the day. They were also very trustworthy which I feel is important as a couple of times I had to leave them to get into the house and carry on with their work when I was out at work. If I had any queries or questions about the work I could text Neil and knew he would always get back to me within half an hour usually by a phone call. After the job was finished someone came round to clear away any leftover materials and do a complete tidy up as well as clearing out my guttering before the scaffolding was taken away. Overall I was very pleased with the job that Mainpride have done and I am now tucked happily away in my new room with en-suite. Thanks Neil and the team.

We just wanted to say thanks for a great job in installing the Velux Window in our dormer bungalow. We were delighted with the service provided, the care taken in ensuring our carpets, walls and staircase were protected during the roof break-through, the window installation and the plastering, and also the attention to detail in cleaning up afterwards. They also turned up on time and as planned. We would certainly recommend your company and may be in touch again soon regarding some other work we are looking at. Thanks again

I've gone back to Mainpride for three jobs now as I have always been happy with the work. This job has been done really well. In fact they started my new roof on a bank holiday Monday and worked solidly all week including altering the job at the last minute to include remedial work to my chimney, at a very good price. The team were all very prompt, tidy and respectful. They turned up when they said they would and worked really hard. The end result is great. Having read the other reviews I can add that Neil has always replied promptly to my texts and has rung me regularly to check things are going well on the days he hasn't been on site. Great work and good communication.
