A Kitchen Freshen up
This customer in Lanarkshire had plans to renovate the whole house, but hadn't got round to thinking about the kitchen yet.The kitchen had a lot of wear and tear, and they were thinking about getting some new appliances anyway, so they arranged for one of our designers to some around. This customer choose the Walnut finish as it was in contrast to the old light coloured kitchen.

Transformed into a stylish functional kitchen
This customer had a small and dated kitchen that was not suitable as a family kitchen. They asked us to open it up into a much larger, brighter and more sociable room. By using our popular shaker style door in white and contrasting worktops the room is instantly made brighter and much more modern. This young family can look forward to personalising their kitchen and completing the look.

A Modern classic finish
This kitchen in Leicestershire was given a modern makeover with a minimalistic edge. The storage was re-structured adding a larder and appliance unit instead of the old wall units. This left the food preparation and hob area seeming more spacious and open. The choice of door is a stark contrast in colour, brightening the overall finish. The classic 'Tuscany' door is a classic style, and integrating the appliances tidies up the room nicely. The customer kept the decoration simple which really suits this light door and walnut woodmix style worktop.

Time for a change
This customer's kitchen was 22 years old. They decided it was time for a change and needed a more modern update. Our designer modernised the room by using contrasting door colours and worktops. Also the customer was in need of some extra storage space. By adding some extra units above the conservatory hatch and a breakfast bar this is one happy customer.

A Timeless design blending classic and contemporary style
The space in this room was not being used to full advantage, and as you can see from the "before" pictures, the room was quite dark. The dated kitchen furniture had too many colour and texture variations and made the room seem quite "closed in". We helped the customer fulfil the potential of their room, creating a bright space for living, working, eating and storage. Our designer worked with the Mr & Mrs Ford to make the most of the space and create a design that will last for years. The great thing about this new kitchen, is that the "slab" style door never seems to go out of fashion, and should stand the test of time whilst appealing to a wide variety of tastes. This means that if in future you go want to sell your home, the kitchen will be a definite plus point and might even give your home the edge in a competative marketplace.

Experience with DM so far, where do we start; Salesman was out discussing price with my mother and at the blink of an eye took £4k of his initial price. How anyone can come up with a figure and take 4k off is beyond me. Certainly not the way I earn the trust of my clients, particularly when dealing with pensioners. We then follow on to the kitchen installation which all appeared to be running quite smoothly only to find that there was leaking that was making its way out from under the plinth and causing the plinth to swell at the bottom. DM sent operatives out to fix the leak (they were there all day trying to fix the leak) there was of course other small minor snags like adhesive discolouring the vinyl and a few chips to the new veneers here and there which were also dealt with. We then get to another leek between the new cold water inlet and the washing machine hose which appears to have caused damage to the flooring. Also appears to have made its way through in to the living room (full extent still to be confirmed as flooring will need lifted). When the leak was identified, DM were contacted immediately. They sent the same plumber out that plumbed the washing machine into the cold water inlet the next day to fix the leak.I then asked them if they would accept liability for the damage caused to the flooring, immediately the answer was NO. When asked why; the answer we got was that they are 'not sure what caused the leak' not very definitive, however, I emailed them and asked if it was a possibility that the connection wasn't fitted correctly in the first place and through time came loose. After a couple of emails to chase up a response and a week gone by, I finally get a response which basically stated same as above. DM are not sure after 5 months what could have caused the leak. The extent of DM help other than what's noted above to date is that 'it's an insurance claim now and we need to let them sort it out'. You can make up your own mind on DM.

Company Response

Mr Glachan, I would like to apologise for your experience of DM Design as it was not up to our usual high levels of customer service around communication. All of our appliances come with a full manufacturers warranty and we always endeavour to leave any kitchen completely finished to a high standard. Kind Regards Ben
