Where to begin!! Agreed for a conservatory to be paid back in mid-March. After broken promises of start dates which should have been mid-April work began nearly a month later in May. By work, a hole was dug, a pipe was broken and our garden was left with a huge hole and no work completed which led to fences falling in, our next door neighbour's child put at risk as their patio fell into the hole alongside the fences and no apology, no work and when we asked for help and an understanding of why no work was being carried out, a torrent of excuses and unhelpful behaviour. Since then, all the materials have been removed from our property they were going to use and no money back and they refuse to take our calls or answer our emails. We have been left down, stolen from and treated in a disgusting manner. mid-March 2019 - signed the contract for a conservatory and small add on room to be built and deposit paid. given 46weeks as start time. By mid-April we hadn't heard from Northern Glass so my partner emailed them and the response was work will and given excuses already about not being in touch (basic manners?) and build times and still no clear outline of dates. Again, no communication so I chased by email asking for clarity and Chris replied advising the start date of May 29th, a further 5 weeks on top of the 6 weeks max we should have been waiting. I complained and was told this was just how it was. I advised I felt already we were being let down and wanted to reconsider the contract. Was then given the date of the start of May for work. Material delivered and skip on the street and hole dug in the garden. We were then told the builder had 'found' a broken pipe and we needed to contact UU and that was it. Second week in May - Had the pipe fixed by UU and let NG know - this took approx 7 days as 2 fixes were required. When fixed, we told Northern glass who said they had started another job and didn't know when they would be back but probably in July! May/Jun mid Jun mid to late Jun first week in July third week in July fences collapsed in the back garden due to the hole in garden that was filling with water, we were constantly having to bucket the water out and had asked NG numerous times to come and at least fill the hole. They did not and the fence panels broke and then the flooring in next doors garden also fell into the hole while their child was on it! So at this point, breach of contract on work, danger and safety issues and threat to life! finally the hole was filled in with concrete by Northern Glass after begging them to help Continued issues flagged, no apology given on the issues we had experienced and still no exact date on return so at this point I sent emails asking to cancel the contract. Got rude and abrupt emails back, still no apology, our garden fence panels were all still down and our garden was a danger zone and a mess. We were now outside the 3month period the contract said the work would be done in and no idea what was happening. I liaised with Chris and asked for an end to the contract to which I was first advised we would owe for the work done - another £1300 as £3000 had been spent! We had a hole and some concrete done at this point and advised the materials could go back! We were disgusted. Advised would take them to court. Chris came to visit us and still no apology. He gave excuse after excuse and no reassurances but wanted us to continue the contract. Myself and partner said we needed to think about it and we contacted him the following Mon (visit was a Wed) to ask when they could start or alternatively what next steps were to get our money back. no response! We are now going to court for our deposit back. Ad they have tried to counterclaim £5000…for what? So to court we go!!!

Following on Northern Glass were taken back to court and was order to pay me £5000.00 in damages as this was down to the work that had to be done to put their mistakes right.

Northern Glass should read Northern Trash had a porch fitted. The Roof not the standard we required every time it rains hard, water pours through the roof. Had them back many times and have been given every excuse why its not their fault. Trying to get them to return promised phone calls is a joke. They do not know the meaning of customer relations.I would not recommend this company to my worst enemy. Un happy The Merry's

Following on from my previous review in October 2016. Northern glass took me to court as I refused to pay for putting right the damaged caused by Northern glass. The court ruled against Northern Glass and stated they caused the damage to my property. They ruled against Northern Glass and stated I don't have to pay the additional charges Northern Glass were trying to charge me. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! they do not know what they are doing and the staff are rude. The MD Chris Stott will try to bully you to get his own way and is rude and a rogue trader!!

Northern Glass (Manchester) caused serious damage to my house by not using the correct structural supports! They installed two bay windows and did not installed ANY structural supports so all the weight of the front of the house was resting on the uPVC windows. As a result, the bay dropped and was a serious health and safety risk. Northern Glass told me that structural supports were not needed! As I was concerned I contact their Auditors (Certass) who confirmed they had installed the windows incorrectly and caused damage to my house. Northern Glass did eventually put this right, but wanted to charge me for the damage they had caused. I found them very difficult to work with and they attempted to miss lead me on several occasions. I will never use this company again!!!

Northern Glass have just been found guilty my HSE ( Health & Safety executive section 7 of Gas Safety regulations, for installing a conservatory that breached gas safety reg. The HSE Stated that Northern glass conduct was appalling and failed to respond why they built a conservatory 80 mm away from a glass boiler flue. Legal action is now being taken against the company, Chris Stott's director of Northern Glass may face criminal as well civil proceeding for there build. Salesman (Steve) gave us a price for a window that we agreed, and gave him a deposit of £100 he said that he would send a workman round to measure the window.Two workmen came the next day and said that we needed a lintel, and that there would be an extra cost. Steve phoned up the next day and asked for an extra £380 which we said was excessive and told him that we wanted to cancel. The next day the company phoned and said that they were charging us £50 for the survey, very agressive on the phone. I said that the salesman should have told us that there would be a cost but the .day on the phone replied that he would not know of the charge. After contacting the for a week and receiving aggressive replies they told us to contact a solicitor. Do not use this company they have no idea about how to treat a customer, disgusted with their performance.

Spent 8000 pounds with this company asked them to come back and look at a problem that has appeared been waiting 24 weeks still not resolved or attempted to solve my problem my advise stay away

Having had our windows fitted a few years ago and have not been happy since having them done, it was a big mistake did not like the quality or the workmanship. To this day I am disgusted the sealing of the window inside and outside was not a good job because during the first year it had come away and had mould forming don't know how they stay in business . I urge nobody to use them!

Having gotten three quotes for replacement windows on the front of my house, I finally decided to go with Northern Glass. And although they were not the cheapest I decided to place my order with a small local company. Having had the job completed I am totally dissatisfied as they have not provided what was agreed and are now trying to charge to complete the work. If the work had been completed as agreed I would have been totally satisfied with the windows and door, but until this work is finished I.e. the facia above the front window is rotten and looks awful, I would suggest you do not use this company.
