In 2019 we had a Loft conversion built by LMB. Overall, we were happy with the job. I even gave them positive reviews. About a week or two after the build was finished one of the roof ridge tiles came off and we had to call the roofer back to fix it. Fast forward to 2nd Jan 2024 strong winds took 5 ridge tiles down damaging some of mine and my neighbours the roof tiles and my car on the drive. I called LMB on the day it happened and Lee the managing director answered the phone. He said he’s had a few calls like this today and he advised me to call my insurance as it was an act of God. Three different independent roofers inspected the roof and said it was very poor workmanship, the batons that the ridge tiles are fixed to (Dry Ridge systems) were not secured and could be pulled off by hand and its lucky nobody has been killed as they could have come down at any time. I complained to LMB via email and they responded saying it’s been passed to their MD. Since then, nothing, absolutely no contact no response from him or anyone else from LMB. The overall build and trades men were good but I’m not happy about the cowboy roofer cutting corners and carrying out sub standard work on my roof. Lee Using the copout of act of God doesn’t cut it when the job wasn’t done properly and I end up paying mine and my neighbours roof repairs. LMB don’t seem to be interested once they have your money.
