had a cold call a year ago from a… I had a cold call a year ago from a lady suggesting I had a free visit from a rep to check my loft. I agreed and the man turned up a few days later as agreed. In typical salesman fashion, he went into loft, came back down and proceeded to tell us why we should have the foam insulation explaining the fact that it would reduce our energy bills. I saw no benefit of paying thousands for foam insulation when I'd already had cavity wall and loft insulation. He then hooked on to the fact that my wife works nights at the local hospital and I mentioned the traffic noise kept her awake while trying to sleep during the day. He said that the foam would help with noise reduction. I was sold on that thinking my wife would be able to sleep better, and after the price being dropped, we agreed. The guys came a week later an the installation was done professionally. We went into lockdown straight after, but as soon as lockdown was eased, the traffic noise was evident - the foam hadn't reduced the noise. I emailed to complain but received no response. I emailed again in October and again got no response. Eventually, contact was made and I was told that evergreen dont promote noise reduction as a benefit - they don't, but the rep did! What makes it worse is that my energy bill then WENT UP! So I wasn't even saving money on that, despite their claims! I have had numerous email, phone, chat conversations with them culminating in a formal letter of complaint being sent. Evergreen did send an engineer out to inspect and confirm installation was fine, something I never queried. Needless to say evergreen are not interested in my complaint and I am preparing my letter to the ombudsman as I feel that I have been mis-sold the product. Just be warned, they cannot and will not GUARANTEE savings and the promise of savings of lots of money may not actually happen. It has been an expensive lesson for us
