A Kitchen Freshen up
This customer in Lanarkshire had plans to renovate the whole house, but hadn't got round to thinking about the kitchen yet.The kitchen had a lot of wear and tear, and they were thinking about getting some new appliances anyway, so they arranged for one of our designers to some around. This customer choose the Walnut finish as it was in contrast to the old light coloured kitchen.

Transformed into a stylish functional kitchen
This customer had a small and dated kitchen that was not suitable as a family kitchen. They asked us to open it up into a much larger, brighter and more sociable room. By using our popular shaker style door in white and contrasting worktops the room is instantly made brighter and much more modern. This young family can look forward to personalising their kitchen and completing the look.

A Modern classic finish
This kitchen in Leicestershire was given a modern makeover with a minimalistic edge. The storage was re-structured adding a larder and appliance unit instead of the old wall units. This left the food preparation and hob area seeming more spacious and open. The choice of door is a stark contrast in colour, brightening the overall finish. The classic 'Tuscany' door is a classic style, and integrating the appliances tidies up the room nicely. The customer kept the decoration simple which really suits this light door and walnut woodmix style worktop.

Time for a change
This customer's kitchen was 22 years old. They decided it was time for a change and needed a more modern update. Our designer modernised the room by using contrasting door colours and worktops. Also the customer was in need of some extra storage space. By adding some extra units above the conservatory hatch and a breakfast bar this is one happy customer.

A Timeless design blending classic and contemporary style
The space in this room was not being used to full advantage, and as you can see from the "before" pictures, the room was quite dark. The dated kitchen furniture had too many colour and texture variations and made the room seem quite "closed in". We helped the customer fulfil the potential of their room, creating a bright space for living, working, eating and storage. Our designer worked with the Mr & Mrs Ford to make the most of the space and create a design that will last for years. The great thing about this new kitchen, is that the "slab" style door never seems to go out of fashion, and should stand the test of time whilst appealing to a wide variety of tastes. This means that if in future you go want to sell your home, the kitchen will be a definite plus point and might even give your home the edge in a competative marketplace.

Disappointed, I will not recommend company to friends and family. When at planning stage it was mentioned to salesman how important it was to have upper units big enough to hold a dinner plate, of course I had the sizes on the computerised plan to check, but having mentioned issue took it for granted they would be standard. Decorator to follow was unable to fill big holes following cooker hood move so had to employ a joiner, added expense, will ignore fact that a sink hole was cut in wrong side of under worktop as it can only be seen from inside unit. The biggest grudge I have with DM Design is that they re installed my integrated fridge wrongly thus no longer working. It was acceptable for the electrician to return identify the problem, thought he had fixed it as there was now power getting to the fridge but alas it had turned into a freezer. No joy gained from a manager Stuart whom I believe has serious attitude issues, when contacting head office in Cumbernauld, so more unforseen expense to replace fridge. Stuart stated the age of existing fridge so didn't appear bothered never mind that it was working fine until they re-located it

Company Response

Dear Mrs Dow, I would like to apologise on behalf of DM Design for the shortcomings you have received in service. I have looked at your file and can see that the wall unit depths were detailed on there so I apologise for any confusion with meat plates not fitting on the wall unit shelves. I can see there was no plaster work detailed on your contract but I would be confident that one of our employed plasterers would be able to deal with the small gaps either side of the hood you refer to, so I would be concerned that your decorator could not deal with this. With regards to the Fridge/Freezer, with this being a 12 year old appliance that was removed and already damaged, I’m afraid we cannot be held responsible for this as is stated on our contract. I have spoken to the Operations Manager who said that conversations with yourself and your husband were discussed at the Weekly Installation Meeting between him and Stewart and Stewart was simply following the Terms & Conditions of the contract which you signed and did receive around 7 phone calls from yourself and your husband. I apologise you are not happy with the finished kitchen but we believe that we have delivered everything as contracted. Kind Regards DM Design
