Windows Plus Roofs Limited T/a Kitchens Plus

A local business does well based on word of mouth so let me tell you all about the local company called windows plus doors aka windows plus roofs aka kitchens plus bathrooms. The one Tim Healy advertises! In January this year we decided to have new windows and a new front door put in, with a baby on the way we wanted the house properly sealed and warm, as the old ones weren't great. Our house already had internal window shutters when we bought it and the salesman advised that this wouldn't be an issue. The date for installation was the 14th February, Happy Valentines indeed, they came and put the door in but said they couldn't do the windows as the shutters were in, we told them that they were fitted in place and couldn't be removed. The fitter advised us he would speak to his manager and get back to us to which they didnt. Two weeks later our daughter Lily came, 16 weeks early. They tried to arrange a date but we said as our baby was on a ventilator we couldn't just leave her to sit at home. We then got a letter threatening with legal action as they weren't a storage unit. We arranged a date for the windows and they were meant to come to install them on a Thursday in June they then cancelled on us saying they would come Friday, as it was only a one day job, and install the upstairs windows, but they ended up installing the wrong window leaving us with no fire escape! They finished at 1pm and said they would be back on the Saturday and on the morning of the Saturday we were informed that the fitters mother in law had fallen down the stairs and wouldn't be able to come but would on Monday. Monday came and they were a no show, no phone call to let us know either. They then said Thursday which they rang on the morning to say they had lost the glass (so how can they threaten us with legal action when they didnt even have it!). Another date was organised and my partners dad sat in all day waiting for them as neither of us wanted to lose anymore time anyway from Lily but again noone showed up and no phone call. The following week after many phone calls they came back and they installed 2 of the living room windows but the main window glass didnt fit and they cracked the top one and we were left for a week with a cardboard window. Eventually the cardboard was replaced and we finally had a window, which was brilliant as there was concerns from the hospital staff about allowing our 4 month premature daughter home with boarded up windows. Unfortunately the broken window hadn't been reported so we still had a huge crack across the top bay window. Another few weeks of repeated phone calls and waiting until it gets ordered, delivered and fitted. We still dont have a fire escape upstairs. So almost 6 months after the one day job was supposed to be done, we have had more than 10 days sat in, away from our daughter, only half of which someone turned up to and are still waiting for the job to be finished. Their policy apparently doesnt include compensation and after explaining to a salesman who rang back to ask what else we would like doing that the company would never be allowed to do any other job at this house under no circumstances.... Here is my compensation to you! I will tell everyone I know not to use your company. I work in a hospital that have many notice boards where I can inform the thousands of staff and patients not to use you. My daughter goes to 2 different hospitals which again has thousands of staff and patients walking through the door and many accessible notice boards for me to advertise my review of your company. So remember people dont use them, Ever!
