due to an unfortunate incident my front door got damaged and dented. The insurance agreed to pay for a new door. Went to realistic home improvements in saltash, had a very quick response, quickly came out to do a quote and the door was ordered. To be honest, I’ve never had a new door before eso had no idea what I was ordering and what was good or not. The door arrived, WOW!!! it is beautiful and amazing quality. The locks and door handles are incredible quality and the latest secure technology when I researched it all later after I got it. I was very impressed how they made sure I had the best quality items on the door when to be honest they could’ve put anything as I would never have known!! So they are very trustworthy, very happy to help, great after service, beautiful door and the fitters were very very friendly and were very considerate of my son who has autism who was having his breakfast in the kitchen when it was being fitted. Would definitely recommend and would use again

We went online and chose 3 companies, I looked at all the reviews and had all 3 companies’ come out and see me. One I dismissed as he showed on interest in my design. Realistic designed exactly what I wanted, and we went ahead. I couldn’t find the design I wanted on the website because I wanted different to everybody else. It took longer than expected to finish as it rained constantly but the fitters were wonderful and worked through it. The builder got soaked most days, but the result is stunning, we love it. I wanted somewhere to sit and read and that’s what I got. It warm even when the sun is not shinning. We are looking at having more work on our property and I have already asked if Realistic will come and quote.

We had researched what type of roof we wanted and Realistic came and priced it. Their quote was good. The fitters were great, it took 3 guys to lift the beams down the sides of the conservatory. Its very well made. We have a triangle window on the end of the conservatory and this was originally made at the wrong angle so we had to wait 2 weeks for another one to be made, that was annoying but when it was put in and the roof on we were able to move on. People comment on how well made this product is and how warm it is. We now use this space as a dinning room and it is great sitting out there at night with the LED’s on relaxing.

I called Ultra frame and they gave me Realistic name as the improved installers for our area. I looked them up and the rep came around. He was a nice chap no pressure selling, we had drawings, and the price was very competitive. We did not realize that the old poly carb roof blocked out so much light. This glass roof is so much better and being able to see the trees and sky is wonderful. The amount of light that now comes into the dining is amazing. Also, the heat from the conservatory travels all over the house. We are pleased that we chose to change the roof and pleased Realistic did it for us.

We chose Realistic because they were local, and the price was competitive plus the product look good and sturdy. We chose grey on white windows with the same for the back door as we didn’t want it to be too dark inside, but we wanted a brightly colored front door so yellow it was. We also had a roller shutter garage door. The guys that came to fit were very good at making sure that the carpets were always covered, and the mess was taken away daily. Everything we asked of them was carried out without complaint. The whole house looks great we are so pleased with the result. 5-star company.

We brought from Realistic as we were impressed with the salesman, no hard sell. He knew what he was talking about. Also, Realistic arranged for us to visit another customer of theirs who had the same sort of roof we were looking at. That really did sell it to us. It was great to see what it would look all finished. We had the back wall plastered to match the roof which made the whole room look complete. We also had all the LED’s put-on dimmers plus wireless speakers in the roof. We are so pleased we have had it done now, it did take a bit longer than we expected, but the weather was awful at the time. The fitters worked hard all the time they were here, they were polite and respectful, a joy to have around. We have already recommended Realistic to friends and will continue to do so.

I found Realistic on the website, then looked at their website and had someone come out to give us a quote. We only wanted a roof at the beginning, but it was not much more to have new windows frames as well, so we did, and we are so pleased that we did as it all looks lovely and new. We went over to the showroom to have a look at how it would look when finished, that was good to get a picture of what we would be having. We did have to wait a bit due to the bad weather and they were running behind. Which couldn’t be helped, once it was started it didn’t take long to put up at all. The fitter worked really hard from as soon as they got here. It I had to find fault it would be that they left some small bits on the grass after there clear up, which we found later. The new conservatory is so much quieter than before, I can’t even hear when it is raining, and it is warmer as well. We love to sit in there and watch the grandchildren playing in the garden.

We were very impressed with the CAD drawing that were produced for us. It was great to see what it would look like before we decided to go ahead. The roof looks superb. It is quieter, warmer and looks very smart. The guys that came to fit it were polite, very tidy and respected our home. We had an issue with the guttering just after it was finished, we called the office and the next day they sent 2 fitters over and they sorted the problem very quickly. We were very impressed. If we had known that you can buy glass that cleans itself and glass that is blue and keeps the heat in, we would have changed the roof sooner. We are looking forward to the summer and spending many evenings out there. We would use Realistic again without a shadow of a doubt and we would recommend them all day long. We now use the conservatory all the time were before it was too cold and never went in there.

Both the builders and the installers are a credit to the company, they work hard and do good work. The builders were building the base on the hottest day of the year but they didn’t stop. Our neighbours who have seen it have said they have a bit of conservatory envy. We love the look of the room, it stands out and I often catch myself looking at it when I come back from walking the dog. We also had a door which we love, the colour especially, Paul and Kaydan again did an excellent job especially scribing in the trim. Only real suggestion is we could have been better with communicating at times. More than happy to recommend Realistic 4/5. Very happy with the end result, as it’s excellent quality.

We wanted a tiled roof with a certain pitch and Realistic said they could do it and yes, they did. The whole room is over 9 meters long at the back of the house. Realistic were very accommodating during the build as we had to go away for a couple weeks right in the middle of the build, so everything was left securely and resumed the moment we got back. Everything we asked them to do, like put boards up over doors, clear the rubbish every day, look out for the cat was adhered to. The room was finished to a high standard, there was few bits I asked them to come and finish off which they did no problem at all. It is most used room in the house, everybody loves sitting out in it.

We shopped around and everybody was offering a little something different with every quote but Realistic listened to what we wanted as it was a bit unusual. The conservatory had to sit over the fishpond, we wanted the fish to be able to come inside to be fed. New lintel in place the build could start. There arrived as planned with the new conservatory, we took one look and realized it was the wrong the color, it did not match the windows of the house. We are avid environmentalists and could not see all that plastic being thrown away, so after some negotiation, compensation and compromise we went ahead, and we are so pleased that we did. The room is perfect, we love it. The fish come in and out all day long, I sit in there with dogs watching the birds and the glass roof makes it so much lighter in the kitchen. Everyone that comes to house comments on the room.

We were very impressed with the initial consultation, the computer programme showed us what the new room would look like, and we could add glass in the roof where we wanted. We are pleased that we opted for the larger panes of glass as it now provides us a better view of the garden in particularly, the bird table. The new room is usable all year round, which it wasn’t before. The finish product is to a high-quality professional standard, it’s very modern in comparison to the old one. The project wasn’t completely smooth sailing, there were issues along the way, but they have always come back and sorted them out. A couple of people have been around to look at the finished job, we are very happy to recommend.

I know that we made the right decision as the room is just like we saw in the brochures, it’s exactly what we wanted. This is a proper room and doesn’t suffer with the problems that the old conservatory did, it no longer gets too hot or too cold and it’s much quieter especially in the rain. When it has been cold outside the new radiant heaters have kicked into effect and taken the chill off the room. The fitters were great with an exceptional eye for detail. My only minor complaint would be I would have preferred more communication and to have been told officially when the work was complete.

We wanted Roc door like our daughter, she had brought hers from Realistic and it was perfect. We liked the security it offered, being made of metal inside. We had the door fitted by a wonderful young man, who halfway through the procedure found a defect on the door. Which meant we could not keep that door. A new door was ordered to replace this one, no problem. The new one arrived, and a different fitter came to install the new door. The door looks lovely and people walking past have commented how nice it looks. But just lately it has started to catch on the bottom, and we are having to have someone to come out and have a look at it. Hopefully it will be all sorted shortly. But besides that, the door is fantastic, and we have had good service throughout our involvement with Realistic. I have told many people where the door has come from, I have no problem recommending Realistic in the further.

We had all of our doors and windows changed in January 2019. From start to finish the service we received from Realistic Home Improvements was excellent. Ryan was helpful, patient and provided us with plenty of choices to allow my wife and to come an informed decision concerning finish/look/style etc. The installation was planned and scheduled and the process of ordering and then installing went off without a hitch. The installation was carried out by Paul and Kadon, and their attitude and approach was outstanding. They worked well as a team and Paul’s attention to detail and finish is commendable. After inheriting draughty, poor quality, poorly fitted windows when we bought the house, it’s great to finally have windows that look great and are extremely well fitted. We took our time to decide on Realistic, but I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the Realistic team to anyone. We have had a lot of great comments from neighbours and passers by and couldn’t be happier with the quality and finish of the doors and windows. A big thank you to all at Realistic, their after sales care has also been excellent.

The fitters were very nice, we had total confidence in them, nothing was too much trouble. The products are good, and we have gained a much brighter room, and best still is that it no longer leaks. furthermore we are happy with the glazing design which Ryan advised us, the larger glass panels gives us unobstructed views of the garden. 5 star performance and will happily recommend to too others.

We adore our new space it makes the house brighter and lighter. We sit in it all the time. The guys that came to install it were fantastic and very professional. The product is well made, and we love the colour. The room is used more than any other in the house. Our only gripe was the office communication. Not quite good enough. They did not keep us in the picture as much as we would have liked. Hence 4 stars.

We knew what type of roof we wanted and found only 2 people offering it in Plymouth. So, we had both people out to give quotes. One was a bit pushy telling us what we wanted and what would look good without us having our say. Ryan was not like that at all, he explained, listened, spend time with us drawing pictures on his computer. We then went over to Saltash to see the conservatories on display. That was great to visualize what ours would be like when finished. The fitters that came were good, very clean and worked well together. It didn’t seem to take very long to get it all up and looking good. The product is very well made, we love the grey colour it matches our windows. We use the new conservatory more than we use any other room in the house. It can be lovely and cool on hot summer days and toasty warm in the winter. We always eat out there when the grandchildren come. My husband loves to watch the birds. So so glad we had a conservatory fitted, wouldn’t be without it now.

We live in a very old house and needed a small back door leading out into the garden. The salesman that came was very helpful, we chose a full-length glass door. It is well made and the fitters that came were very knowable. The service from start to finish has been very good.

I wanted to use a local company and felt very confident after I had spoken to Realistic that they would do a good job and I was not wrong. The door is beautiful, works like a dream and looks very stylish. It is very in keeping with the property, I’m so pleased I chose a stable door instead of a normal door. I often have the top open, it did need adjusting not long after it was fitted and I was told it may do this, but back they came very quickly and perfection.

Had 3 quotes 2 local and Realistic was recommended by a friend as she had used them in the past and was very pleased. They were not the cheapest but the least pushy. They also got me a great deal on the scaffolding as my flat is on the 3rd floor. We had a slight problem with one of the windows it had the opening on the wrong side, but it was changed over without any fuss. The fitters were very knowable and didn’t take long to fit all 3 windows. We had a length of lead flashing under the cill which had been put there by the previous owners and it looked ugly, so I asked if the fitters would remove it and make good. They did a fantastic job. We are thinking about patio doors next and I wouldn’t hesitate to use Realistic again.

Realistic came and fitted our bay window along with new soffit board all the way along the front of the house. The window was very old and needed moving back which they did with ease. The fitter was very tidy and cleaned up everything before he left. We were very impressed. The window was finished off very neatly and people have commented as they have walked past. The new boards have made the house look very smart as the old ones were rotten and looked unsightly. There was a bit more work involved putting these up but again nothing was too much trouble.

The price is what made us decide to use Realistic and that they are a local firm. 4 of my doors were in a bad state and needed replacing. The fitter that came did a lovely job and he had to work with some very rotten frames. The front door looks great we love the grey colour. My only fault and it’s a little one is that on one occasion someone failed to arrive, and they never let me know at the time, I received a call later a bit later. Hence the 4 stars. We would recommend Realistic to anyone, what a happy bunch of guys.

This is not the first time we have used Realistic. They have previously rebuilt our conservatory. So, we knew exactly were to go. The windows they fitted are of a very high quality, they look fantastic. We are very pleased. I gave a 4-star rating because one of the fitters damaged my wooden floor which I wasn’t very pleased about, but they did put it right. With out that hic up it would have be 5 stars across the board.

We had a 20-year-old conservatory, hot in the summer, cold in the winter so we contacted Ultra frame and they told us to contact Realistic. They were great, very helpful and sent Ryan round to give us a quote. He was very knowable and spent a long time explaining to us oldies all the new shiny things we could have. Like glass that is blue to keep the strong sun out, self-cleaning glass, bigger getting the list goes on and on. The fitters were lovely chaps and worked very hard in the bad weather to get everything done in time. They tried their best to keep everything dry, they were clean and tidy and very polite. I would have them back any time. The conservatory is beautiful, light, airy and very modern. We couldn’t have asked for more.

We have been looking to replace our windows for a very long time. They had to match some of the others we already have in the farmhouse. Realistic came up with the exact model and colour. The fitters Realistic sent were outstanding. They made a lovely job. They were very meticulous in everything they did. You cannot tell the difference; all the windows look the same. We do need more windows which we will be going back to Realistic to have them fitted. I can not rate them highly enough.

I needed a new poly cab roof as the one I had was old and starting to leak. I found Realistic when looking on the web. Gave them a call and Ryan came and gave up a price. We were kept informed what was happening while we were waiting for it to be fitted. The fitters came who were great guys, they never stopped working or drinking coffee. The job didn’t take that long and they stayed until it was finished. Once finished it looks lovely. We now use this room more that any other in the house. Than you Realistic good Job.

My mum has brought from Realistic in the past and was very pleased with the service. I ordered a door which is superb we love it. The door didn’t take long to come and was fitted very quickly. The two fitters who came were very helpful, polite and professional. I have had my comments from people walking past. The door is slate grey, and we are now planning to change the windows. If I was to any grippes it would be that from the time, I placed the order to the time the door was fitted we only had one call. I would have liked to be kept up to date a bit more. But I believe this is already been addressed by the office staff.

I have used realistic before in my old house. I like the products they use and being local is a bonus as I was able to pop up to the showroom, speak to the staff and take samples away with me. I was kept updated through out my project. The door was fitted by two very nice fitters and explained everything they were doing and why. We moved into a smaller bungalow and had what we thought was a lovely little conservatory out the back but it leaked, I had to get it changed. I checked with all traders and after reading many reviews decided to go with Realistic. The salesman came gave me all my options, showed us pictures of what it would look like. I wanted patio doors out into my garden so i had Realistic make a window bigger by cutting the blocks below the window out to make a bigger opening. Now i can sit and look into the garden with the doors open or shut. I choose Realistic because they were local and i have seen them at the garden centre i use. The lads that came to install the doors were very goods and took great care when putting it in. They finished it off with edging all the way round and it looks super.

It took us a long time to find this type of bi fold door and we had been let down by other companies. Realistic offered a good price. The men that came to fit the door were very polite, clean and tidy but had to put the door together from a kit and i don't think they had done very many. There were magnets missing and the gasket was the wrong colour hence 4 stars, but these were put right by Realistic. We are very pleased with the doors and would recommend Realistic to anyone.

Glazed extension with Ultraframe LivinROOF Project did take longer than we were expecting in the main due to a major issue with the plastering, these delays could have been avoided with better communications with Realistic. Having said that they rectified the issues, with a special thank you to Paul Little Construction. Now the project is complete it has exceeded our expectations and we are delighted with the final finish. The new room works perfect as our home office. Thank you to Paul, Scott, Chris & Mike in the office. In short Realistic gave us the room they promised, even if it was slightly painful getting there.

New Edwardian PVCu Conservatory. Ryan was incredibly knowledgeable, didn't try to sell to us, even measured up our other rooms to give our new conservatory perspective. We did lose a bit of confidence with the builders, however the works were complete as required, just took longer than we felt necessary. Paul & Darren the installers were brilliant, really efficient. I was able to leave them to it whilst at work. Working area was always left clean & tidy. Excellent communications with the office team as well. Happy to both refer and recommend in the future.

Replacement Lean To conservatory Ryan was very knowledgeable and helpful and not pushy like a salesman. The installers were very unobtrusive and just got on with the job, could have been a little cleaner but it was raining. We have found the new roof has given us a much more usable room and has not been oppressive in the recent heat, very happy with our products. Realistic were also very responsive to a small issue we had with one of the windows. We would be happy to use them again and would also recommend to friends and family

Replacement Conservatory Roof Our consultation was with Ryan who whilst not wanting to leave a quotation, was not pushy or too salesy either,. Installer was really quick and efficient but attention to detail could have been a little better. I am absolutely over the moon with the products and have already noticed how much cooler the room is in the summer, now looking forward to being able to use it a lot more in the winter. Replacement Anthracite grey on white windows & doors. Once again we are really happy with our installation, the only real issue was the time scale that kept slipping. The installers were amazing and treated our home as though it was their own. The products are amazing and really improves the front of house appearance, the difference in heat retention is so I good I often find myself check to see If i have left the radiators on.

Ultraframe LivinROOF The installers used were really good, always clean and tidy, the actual job was not as messy as I had expected, the lead flashing needed a bit of tidying up which was quickly completed, apart from that we have no complaints. All trades were really good and always kept to their given scheduled visits. The finished work is much better than I anticipated and am left feeling very impressed with Realistic.

Replacement glass conservatory roof. We are happy with our installation, our fitter Dan was really good despite some hot weather, he just came and got on with the job, always considerate & polite, he always updated us on each step. We are really happy with our products, this room is no longer dark which means we get to much more use out of it. Communications were really good with the exception of the remedial's where there were a few delays. Overall we are happy to recommend to our friends and family.

Replacement PVCu windows & doors. Good honest consultation from Ian, The fitters were really good, professional & polite, leaving our house clean & tidy. The was a little confusion over a small window but that was quickly sorted out. The products are of good quality and we have already noticed a significant difference in heat retention and just how quiet they make the house, the windows have also solved our damp issues. Replacement Lean to conservatory. We initially viewed their website, then visited their showroom, it was great having the ability to speak direct with a designer on site. Our installers were very polite, always on time and worked really hard despite some awful weather. The products are very good and we are delight with the final look, we envisage using the room far more throughout the year, it already feels so much warmer. The only small issue was the manufacturing process took longer than expected and this could have been communicated to us better.

Replacement Rosewood on white Front door, French Doors & windows. Apart from a couple small snags I am very happy with my install. the installers always left my property in a clean and tidy state and were very polite. my doors and windows look great, especially the internal handles which are very in keeping with my property. LivinROOF & Frame replacement with French Doors The installers were nice lads, Josh and Nathan just came and got on with the job, although Josh's eye for detail could be better. We have also has a slight issue with water ingress which has hopefully now been sorted. Overall we are delighted with our room, the products are brilliant, we are considering using Realistic again in the future and would happily recommend to family and friends.

Chartwell Green on White PVCu Door. After initial install issues, due to the manufacturer I am very happy with my door. I love the colour and the way it keeps the warmth in. The locking mechanism can be a bit cumbersome but I appropriate that this is manly do door security. I have to say that I am very happy with Realistic as our installers.

My conservatory build was so problematic that I had to cut ties with the company and pay 2 others £1,488 and £65 respectively to carry out remedial work . Problems included not building what I had signed up to, wrong colour glass installed, floor covering not level, door hinges had to be replaced, poor finishing on plastering, roof panel installed upside down, weeks exposed to the elements as there was no front on the room, different colour cream trims inside and out, sound of gushing water whenever it rained, water coming in in several places etc. Took weeks to resolve some problems, failed to resolve some satisfactorily, gave many broken promises about dates when work would be carried out, considered serious problems as "snags". A very stressful experience.

Company Response

We take full responsibility for our builds and welcome feedback, which enables us to move forward in a proactive way. The design was agreed prior to any works commencing, the problems relating to the glass, hinges, plastering and floor level were all completed as part of the ongoing build process. A roof pane of glass was labelled upside down and subsequently installed incorrectly, when it rained it became apparent that the glass was not dispensing water the same as the other panes, we therefore reversed the pane which corrected the error. Mrs Tamblyn’s photograph of the plastering shows that the plastering does not go to an acceptable floor finish for the exclusion of skirting board. This was our mistake, we assumed Mrs Tamblyn would at some point have skirting board installed into the room. The plasterer was sent back to rectify his work, which can be seen clearly in Mrs Tamblyn’s 1st photograph taken whilst the plastering was drying out. - Our plasterer now asks the question on future skirting board requirement. Products are ordered from survey after the ground base works are complete, this ensures that the products fit correctly, it limits risk or problems, but it does delay installation time, which is exasperated when ordering coloured products, especially coloured aluminium frames, both of which were part of Mrs Tamblyn’s contract. PVCu coloured profile and aluminium profile are impossible to match exactly as they are both different materials. We were not able to meet Mrs Tamblyn’s expectations for her installation, we therefore felt it fair to offer her the option of: 1, Allow us to put down the latex self-levelling compound, which would take out the defects she had pointed out in the floor. This would then leave the outstanding balance to be settled and her guarantees sent in the post. 2, Not pay her sizeable outstanding balance and waiver her 10-year guarantee. Finally, we do not consider the building process to be a problem, we do have snags, which we overcome. We try to work together with our clients and hope that the majority will have a good experience when dealing with us, sadly though, we are not always successful.

Ultraframe, UltraROOF 380, conservatory roof replacement. Good presentation from Ian who was very knowledgeable despite this being a new product, there was no pressure to sign on the day. The roof was fitted by Ollie & Ben, they were excellent, worked really hard, sometimes not even stopping for a lunch break. Mike & Kev the builders completed the plastering and they were again excellent, very clean & tidy, even went to the extreme of cleaning our windows. We are delighted with our products and the final look, it no longer feels as though we are sat in a conservatory. We would not hesitate in using Realistic again and would happily recommend to our friends and family.

Only small issue was communication at times between trades, this however was addressed with Mike on his site post site visit.
