Conservatories

On first impressions, it was very favourable and P was out to my place giving a quote the same day. They definitely spoke from a wealth of experience and the 10 year warranty was a bonus. I read the trust pilot reviews and it was pretty much all favourable.  Unfortunately my experience wasn't as good. I found the services once the money paid to Idealhomes were slow. The trades people once out at my place were great and I'm very happy with the roof. I did find that I had to constantly chase for the various trades people to come out and I had a lot of assurances that the electrician and plasterer were coming out on certain days but didn't. This is a Birmingham based company and all their trades people are from Birmingham so if there are delays or problems encountered or rainy weather, it's not such any easy fix to get them to come out the next day (I'm based in London). I had asked originally how long it would take to replace my conservatory roof and fix some of rain water damage since the flooring, windows and structure were fine and was told 3 days maximum. All up it took 5 weeks in total. The majority of time was mainly waiting for the tradespeople to come out and do their bit. I also found that my £15k didn't include a coat of paint. This was disappointing as it looked like the job was half done so expect to pay more to get a painter in (see photos). Overall, I think 3 stars is very fair with 1 star lost for slow services/chasing and another for the finish which didn't include a paint job and a messy plasterer finish over my plastic panes by the windows. Plus me having to scrub the window panes of a grimy substance that is taking forever to remove. Would I recommend this company? I think if you are going in with your eyes wide open on the timing, chasing and not including the paint job, you should be happy with the job they do.
